Thistle & Twine was born from a simple conviction: that the best things in a spa should come from the ground, not a lab. Mara Thompson opened the doors in Bozeman, Montana with a jar of calendula-infused oil, a set of good scissors, and a belief that every woman deserves a place that treats her like a person — not a booking slot.
Our mission has always been grounded in authenticity. We source plant-based ingredients from regional farms and small apothecaries, formulate many of our own treatments in-house, and keep our client list intentionally small so every visit feels personal. When you walk in, we know your name — and we remember how you take your tea.
The space itself was designed to feel like a Montana cabin that got very good at facials. Worn wood, warm candlelight, dried wildflowers on the windowsill. The kind of place where you loosen your shoulders before the treatment even starts. That feeling — unhurried, grounded, cared-for — is what we protect above everything else.
